Authorities in Kissimmee, Florida, have charged a 22-year-old pizza delivery worker, Brianna Alvelo, with multiple serious felonies after she allegedly stabbed a pregnant woman 14 times following a dispute over tipping. The horrifying incident unfolded in a motel room while the victim’s five-year-old daughter was present.
According to reports from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the victim placed a pizza order with Marcos Pizza Shop. The bill totaled $33.10, and the victim handed Alvelo $50, expecting $16.90 in change. Alvelo then reportedly informed her that she could not provide change due to company policy. The woman scrambled to find smaller bills from her belongings and was ultimately able to give Alvelo an additional $2 as a tip. Witnesses claim Alvelo rolled her eyes and walked away without saying a word.
A few hours later, the peace of the Riviera Motel was shattered when a knock at the door turned into a violent home invasion. The victim, her boyfriend, and her daughter were asleep when they opened the door to a masked Alvelo and an unidentified armed male accomplice forcing their way inside.
Investigators report that Alvelo ransacked the room before allegedly stabbing the victim 14 times with a pocket knife as she tried to shield her child. The victim suffered wounds across her chest, legs, arms, and stomach while protecting her daughter. Her mobile phone was also smashed during the ordeal.
Following the attack, the two suspects fled the scene with stolen items in hand. The woman was rushed to a hospital, where she had surgery for a ruptured lung. Doctors also revealed she was in the early stages of pregnancy.
Surveillance footage and vehicle identification led investigators to quickly identify Alvelo as the primary suspect. The car used during her pizza delivery matched the vehicle involved in the motel break-in, and Marcos Pizza Shop confirmed she was working that evening.
Brianna Alvelo now faces serious charges, including attempted murder, home invasion with a firearm, kidnapping, and aggravated assault with a weapon. She has requested a court-appointed attorney ahead of her hearing, stating she cannot afford legal representation. The identity of her accomplice remains unknown as authorities continue their investigation.
This shocking crime has both enraged and saddened the local community, sparking debates over tipping culture and workplace behavior. The victim, who remarkably survived the brutal attack, is reportedly recovering post-surgery.
