Winnipeg, Canada – A gruesome and horrific case has captured international attention after Irene Lima, 55, and Chad Kabecz, 40, were accused of creating and distributing disturbing fetish videos on the dark web. Winnipeg police allege that the couple tortured and killed over 75 animals, including kittens, between May and October 2023.
Dubbed “Goddess May” online, Lima allegedly performed these monstrous acts, such as stomping animals to death barefoot, for videos that were later uploaded to a dark web site called “Goddess May Barefoot Premium Crush.” This website reportedly featured graphic content with a chilling focus on a “sexual component,” according to police investigations.
The couple’s dark enterprise was exposed in October after a veterinarian tipped off police with evidence of the disturbing videos. Subsequent raids at their Winnipeg residence revealed hundreds of videos and photographs, encrypted communications, and tools linked to the acts shown in the videos.
According to Crown attorney Sean Sass, the videos were not only staged but meticulously premeditated. “These are not quick kills… some of these videos are five minutes long,” Sass told the court, describing them as “horrific” examples of extreme cruelty.
Investigators stated that the website was built to suit a twisted underground audience, with Kabecz creating a network where members gained access by submitting videos of themselves killing animals.
Shocking New Allegations Emerge
Further investigation uncovered content involving child pornography and communications that showed intentions to torture a child. The couple now faces a litany of charges, including possession and creation of child pornography, killing or injuring animals, and unnecessary suffering of animals.
Kabecz’s alleged role in setting up the underground network appears to include compelling others to commit acts of bestiality for membership, a crime for which he is uniquely charged.
Evidence and Community Tip-Off Played Key Roles
Police uncovered damning evidence at the couple’s home, such as Lima’s diary and a blue Tupperware bin allegedly featured in the videos. Lima’s diary contained chilling details linking her long history of torturing animals with personal satisfaction, Sass reported.
The investigation was propelled by an anonymous Reddit user who tipped off authorities. This individual reportedly communicated with someone believed to be Kabecz, receiving instructions on accessing the dark web site and screenshots of transactions.
Legal Proceedings and Public Outrage
Both Lima and Kabecz remain in custody and are expected to stand trial. Lima was denied bail at her last hearing, leaving her attorney “disappointed” with the decision. The case continues to provoke widespread outrage as animal rights groups call for justice and stricter penalties for such gruesome acts.
Police have urged anyone with further information about the couple or their activities to come forward as the investigation continues to unfold.
